· Don't thank me. If you're my boss and appreciate something I've done, that's cool. Otherwise, bag it. I hate being thanked, particularly with a "thx." And don't copy me when you thank someone else, either, unless they saved a little girl from a well or something. I'm busy dealing with the other 150 e-mails I got today.

· In fact, don't copy me on something that's just going to annoy me. If something is going wrong and you need to unload: Call me. Otherwise, you're using the electronic bypass to avoid my 18-wheeler as we trundle down the information superhighway.

· But don't forget to copy me if I should know about it. That's right. I'm inconsistent. Figure it out. Knowing when to get people involved and when to leave them out is a basic management skill.

· Don't make me think about anything for more than 15 seconds. Send me 12 long single-spaced paragraphs and I'll send you the bill for a bump up on my bifocal prescription.

· Don't expect a response to every e-mail. I don't expect you to answer me all the time, either. I put the letters NRN -- no reply necessary -- at the end of most of my e-mails. It cuts down on "Thx" and "Will do" and "No problem" replies from people who think I want them.

· E-mail is perhaps the least congenial forum for anything funny, dire, or personal. Unless you're an Oscar-winning screenwriter, play it straight. No sarcasm. No emotions. Anything really worth saying should be said on the phone. Or in person.

· If there's an article with my name in it or a picture of my dog, send it along. But sucking up with pointless "thought you might like this" e-mails is crying wolf: Next time you send one that really matters, I'll be that much more likely to ignore it.

· Go easy on the CC field, especially when you're venting or playing politics.

· Unless you're indispensable, don't get too personal. Sure, the EVP of Human Resources is e-mailing his wine broker 20 times a day, but selective enforcement of laws is what totalitarian states are all about.

· Business language is English. Weird gizmotic lingo is for MySpace or AIM. We're at the office. Write like a smart person, not a vowel-challenged moron.

· Don't be too boring, though. With close business associates, you may toss in a random "Dude," even. People like to be called dude, especially stone square pegs in Accounting and Finance. It makes them feel like hipsters.

· Don't become a zombie. It is now possible to conduct virtually your entire career like a boneless homunculus, basking in the glow of a computer screen. But come on. It's nice outside. Give it a try. Oh yeah, and ...

· Leave your BlackBerry at home when you go to the beach. And turn it off at night, too. You have other hardware that needs attention after hours, don't you, Dude?

One minute I was taking a leak and the next thing I knew I was in hospital. WHAT WOMEN HATE ABOUT WHAT MEN WEAR

· Socks -- These were far the most frequently mentioned item of annoyance. Socks, women say, must be long enough to cover the calf or yuck. Nothing is less titillating than a glimpse of a hairy skin below the trouser cuff when a man wearing short socks crosses his legs. Also out are socks with clogs, black socks with tennis shoes and socks with holes in them.

· Miami Beach macho -- Exposing five buttons' worth of chest and a medallion should be hung by their gold chains.

· Misfits -- Women say clothes that don't fit advertise poor character traits.

· Textures -- Passions run high. Men shouldn't wear velour, it's like being with a stuffed animal. Silk is arrogant. Corduroy, yes! Rayon, no! Camel's hair, yes! Double knit, no! Eventually one rule emerges, men shouldn't shine.

· Shoes -- This is an easy one. Whether women were partial to men in Gucci's or Adidas, glove-leather tips or crepe-sole Hush Puppies, nobody loves tassel loafers.

· Underwear -- Questions about boxers or briefs and t-shirts verses sleeve-less undershirts produced another quick consensus. This issue is settle by body type. The man with a good "bottom" and tight belly should wear jockeys. The well-muscled-shoulder man should wear sleeveless. Everyone else shouldn't. Pictures and slogans should be left to little boys under the age of 12.

I was pretty nervous when I Heard the stories about aguy getting lung disease from the fumes of microwave popcorn. Well, even the Denver doctors who treated
the man say the guy "really liked microwave popcorn." He made two or
three bags every day for 10 years. And he "liked the smell of popcorn,
so he would open and inhale from freshly popped bags." Yikes...I like it but I don't like it that much.

TOP 10 PICK UP LINES (AskMen.com)
· "I was wondering if you have a moment to spare for me to hit on you?": This one is relatively original and seems innocent enough for her to take notice, without feeling threatened by you. You'll also effectively send the message that you're interested in her, but are more interested in making her smile.

· "What's a sexy woman like you doing in a dirty mind like mine?": A fairly underused line, this one conveys that you find her hot, without sounding offensive. Show her you can be a bad boy and see if she likes your direct approach with the ladies.

· "Do you work for UPS? I could have sworn I saw you checking out my package.": This one is fairly blunt (no pun intended), but it's the perfect one to use when you see a woman giving you the eye and, well, checking out your package. Since she may feel a bit uneasy, you should take the opportunity and strike up a conversation while you have the upper hand.

· "Who's your friend?": This one is risky, but it will shatter any pretense she might have about your actions by shifting the focus to her friend. This will intrigue her, to say the least, as she will wish to know "hey, how come not me?"

· "I'm new in town and can't find my way around; could I have directions to your place?": The line itself isn't that great, but city newcomers are always refreshing people to speak with, and they also seem less threatening. It's highly unlikely that she'll shrug off your request to chat, and she'll probably laugh (if she has a sense of humor). The probability that she replies with a "where from?" is even higher. Do not use if you are actually a local.

· "I may not be the best-looking guy in here, but I'm the only one talking to you.": Believe it or not, only good-looking guys should use this one, since they'll be viewed as modest. If a guy uses this and he is ugly, then it's a sign of insecurity, which is a huge a turnoff. Generally, this line passes because it proves that the guy is down-to-earth. It will surely throw her off guard as she might get offended. Use with caution.

· "You must be Jamaican, because Jamaican me crazy.": If you ever spot an attractive woman and would like to approach her, this line is funny in a childish manner and women tend to laugh off funny lyrics such as this one.

· "What's your name?": Instead of saying something like, "baby, we're like two banks: we both have interest in each other and we should merge," this one is simple and will not insult her intelligence. It may be the oldest one in the book (well, "come here often?" takes that award), but this one is genuine and direct -- two important qualities.

· "See my friend over there? He wants to know if you think I'm cute.": Extremely original, this line will make you stand out from the pack. This line virtually guarantees that she will smile. You may not leave with her that night, but you may get her phone number or at least chat it up for a while.

· "So what haven't you been told tonight?": Very original, this line will make you stand out from the other men. You acknowledge that she has been getting hit on all night and you do not wish to add to her frustration. However, you are confident and interested enough to try your luck without insulting your intelligence.

Women
· High-cut briefs -- Ladies who wear "granny panties" tend to be perfectionists, except when it comes to style. They care most about comfort and function. They are practical people who don't dress to impress.

· Boy shorts or thong -- Women who don these are confident go-getters who enjoy a challenge. They like to show off their curves, are outgoing, and open to new things. They also enjoy not having a panty line when they wear pants. They like the thong because it makes them feel sexy even when they wear jeans, while boy shorts are cute and feminine -- without baring it all.

· The need to match -- Some women must have a matching bra and panty set. These confident women are quite fashion-conscious and enjoy pampering themselves. Some might even call them spoiled or high-maintenance.

Men
· Boxers -- Wearing boxers is all about comfort, but men who prefer boxers are generally laidback, not too flashy, and light-hearted. Boxers are the #1 choice in underwear for men.

· Briefs -- Nicknamed tightie-whities even if they are red or blue or some other color, briefs are worn by men who are inhibited and like the restricted feel of this kind of underwear. Hey guys, it's not uncommon for women to think of you as their little brother when they find out you wear briefs.

· Boxer-briefs -- Can you say the best of both worlds? Men who opt for boxer-briefs are very good at committing in relationships. Hey, they already know how to compromise since they've done it with their underwear!

· Thong -- Men who wear thongs are tremendously outgoing and some are exhibitionists. Check a male thong-wearer's high school yearbook, and you'll no doubt find "Class Clown" under his name.

The way to a man's heart is through his ego not through his stomach, says psychiatrist Dr. Rubinstein. "Men crave flattery," he says. "It's easier to get men to believe compliments than to get women to believe them. He offered these enlightening tips on flattering a man.

Physical -- "Tell him he's strong or masculine," Dr. Rubinstein said. "Or tell him what a great body he has specific compliments that imply masculinity."

Appearance -- "Tell him how good-looking he is," the doctor said. "Or pick out one feature such as his eyes. But don't call him cute. Most men think that word is reserved for women and puppies."

Sensual -- "Tell him you love the sound of his voice," Dr. Rubinstein said. "Or that you like the way he smells, the feel of his skin or the color of his eyes."

Men will fall, err believe this 60% more than women will! The study showed that women need to be told the same compliment 5 to 6 times before they actually believe you mean it! Yikes can you say issues?

· Don't use some corny opening line as an icebreaker.
· Try fighting that compulsion to stare at her chest.
· Don't check out other women while you're talking to her.

· Compliment... but in moderation.

HOW TO TREAT YOUR HAIR NATURALLY WITH FOOD

You don't need to spends hundreds of dollars at a hair salon buying product that will take care of your mane! Plenty of items in your pantry or fridge can be used to treat hair naturally and keep it healthy.

Yogurt: Yogurt has long been known to be a great hair conditioner, and has been used to replace hair conditioners all together. You can buy a bottle of hair conditioner that has ingredients meant to imitate the results yogurt gives you, or you can just apply yogurt instead. Purchase plain yogurt, the normal full fat kind, and run it through your hair in the same way you would a rinse out conditioner. Your hair will be baby soft and have a great shine.

Avocado: Avocado does wonder on limp, lifeless hair and treats problems like split ends naturally. If you need to treat lifeless hair that lacks luster, mash an avocado with a tablespoon of lemon juice. Apply the paste to your hair and tie it up for twenty minutes. When the time is up, rinse the paste completely out of your hair and enjoy the new volume!

If split ends are your issue a quick avocado fix will straighten your problem out until you get yourself into the salon. Mash an entire avocado and add a cup of coconut milk, apply the paste to the tips of your hair and let it do its magic for fifteen minutes. Your split ends will no longer be noticeable when you rinse out the paste and the temporary fix will last about a week.

Cornstarch: Perpetually greasy looking roots could use a quick cornstarch treatment to help absorb an excess of oil in your hair. Rub some cornstarch into the roots of your hair before washing and just rinse out in the shower. Wash and blow dry your greasy hair problems away.

Honey: Honey is a great moisturizer for both skin and hair, and especially coarse hair is quickly softened with a honey-based treatment. For shoulder length hair combine two tablespoons of honey will a quarter cup of olive oil (double the ingredients for longer hair). Apply the mixture to your hair and cover with a shower cap or in a bun on the top of your head. After twenty minutes rinse out the treatment and towel dry hair.

· To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

· To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

· To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion

· To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes

· To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy

· To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

Around a dozen middle-aged and elderly men braved the reporters, photographers and at least five television crews, to fulfill their dream of exercising naked.

"There are things that you like to do, and for a nudist, it just feels better to do them with your clothes off," said Ron van der Putten, who drove for more than an hour to take part in the event, dubbed 'Nudifit' or 'Naked Sunday'. "You feel more free."

They better have scrubbed down the equipment after that event!

What a great adventure I just got back from.
The Krazy Canadian, Dan Davidoff and Gord Barrett from Barrett Yamaha/Honda took my snowmobiling outside of Rossland.

The last time I rode a sled was about 12 years ago. Gord gave my a 2007 Yamaha Apex (1000CC) to ride that blew my mind. The technology in these sleds is amazing! I don't know if there is way to explain the feeling of these new Yamaha sleds. I don't know how many times I said wow on the trails. BUT let me say it again WOWWWWWW!!!!!

When 25-year-old Samantha Deakin found out her boyfriend, Matt East, was cheating on her, she hijacked his MySpace page and exacted her revenge. She changed the welcome page to say: "I'm a pathological liar. I cheat regularly." She then mimicked those Mastercard TV commercials and wrote, "Dinner in a posh restaurant-- $100. A night in a top hotel-- $200. Finding out your boyfriend is a lying scumbag and changing his MySpace page so everyone can see-- PRICELESS." She also changed his password so he couldn't get back in and undo the damage. The site received more than 250,000 hits in five days with many women writing off Matt as a "total loser" until it was finally shut down by the MySpace folks. All Matt had to say for himself was, "I admit I cheated

I've been raving about the wonderful weekend my wife and I had golfing this weekend.
I'm no golfer but I knew if I could get Melanie hooked on Golf, then I'd have a better chance of getting out regularly. IT worked!!!

Mike the Pro at Kokanee Springs fixed my bad habits and helped Melanie really whack that little white ball.

I knew I would get to golf a lot more after Melanie had the best drive off of Tee #1. In Fact she drove the ball further than anyone else in our group.

To top it off, we stayed at the Lodge with drive up Golf Carts. Now that's the life for me...I can't wait to retire.

Fretting over crime and violence, girlfriends and wives of gang members in the Colombian city of Pereira have called a ban on sex to persuade their men-folk to give up their guns.
After meeting with the mayor's office to discuss a disarmament program, a group of women decided to deny their partners their conjugal rights and recorded a song for local radio to urge others to follow their example.
"We met with the wives and girlfriends of gang members and they were worried some were not handing over their guns and that is where they came up with the idea of a vigil or a sex strike," mayor's office representative Julio Cesar Gomez said.

If we could get the women of Iraq to do this . . . it could be the beginning of World Peace.

Eighty-five times he's pushed his disabled son, Rick, 26.2 miles in
marathons. Eight times he's not only pushed him 26.2 miles in a
wheelchair but also towed him 2.4 miles in a dinghy while swimming and
pedaled him 112 miles in a seat on the handlebars--all in the same day.
Dick's also pulled him cross-country skiing, taken him on his back
mountain climbing. Makes taking your son bowling look a little lame,
right?

And what has Rick done for his father? Not much--except save his life.

This love story began in Winchester, Mass., 43 years ago, when Rick was
strangled by the umbilical cord during birth, leaving him brain-damaged
and unable to control his limbs.

"He'll be a vegetable the rest of his life;'' Dick says doctors told
him and his wife, Judy, when Rick was nine months old. ``Put him in an
institution.''

But the Hoyts weren't buying it. They noticed the way Rick's eyes
followed them around the room. When Rick was 11 they took him to the
engineering department at Tufts University and asked if there was
anything to help the boy communicate. ``No way,'' Dick says he was told.
"There's nothing going on in his brain.''

"Tell him a joke,'' Dick countered. They did. Rick laughed. Turns out a
lot was going on in his brain. Rigged up with a computer that allowed him
to control the cursor by touching a switch with the side of his head,
Rick was finally able to communicate. First words? "Go Bruins!'' And
after a high school classmate was paralyzed in an accident and the school
organized a charity run for him, Rick pecked out, ``Dad, I want to do
that.''

Yeah, right. How was Dick, a self-described "porker'' who never ran
more than a mile at a time, going to push his son five miles? Still,
he tried. "Then it was me who was handicapped,'' Dick says. "I was sore
for two weeks.''

That day changed Rick's life. "Dad,'' he typed, "when we were running,
it felt like I wasn't disabled anymore!''

And that sentence changed Dick's life. He became obsessed with giving
Rick that feeling as often as he could. He got into such hard-belly shape
that he and Rick were ready to try the 1979 Boston Marathon. "No way,''
Dick was told by a race official. The Hoyts weren't quite a single
runner, and they weren't quite a wheelchair competitor. For a few years
Dick and Rick just joined the massive field and ran anyway, then they
found a way to get into the race officially: In 1983 they ran another
marathon so fast they made the qualifying time for Boston the following
year.

Then somebody said, "Hey, Dick, why not a triathlon?''

How's a guy who never learned to swim and hadn't ridden a bike since he
was six going to haul his 110-pound kid through a triathlon? Still, Dick
tried.

Now they've done 212 triathlons, including four grueling 15-hour
Ironmans in Hawaii. It must be a buzzkill to be a 25-year-old stud
getting passed by an old guy towing a grown man in a dinghy, don't you
think?

Hey, Dick, why not see how you'd do on your own? "No way,'' he says.
Dick does it purely for "the awesome feeling'' he gets seeing Rick with a
cantaloupe smile as they run, swim and ride together.

This year, at ages 65 and 43, Dick and Rick finished their 24th Boston
Marathon, in 5,083rd place out of more than 20,000 starters. Their best
time'? Two hours, 40 minutes in 1992--only 35 minutes off the world
record, which, in case you don't keep track of these things, happens to
be held by a guy who was not pushing another man in a wheelchair at the
time.

"No question about it,'' Rick types. "My dad is the Father of the
Century.''

And Dick got something else out of all this too. Two years ago he had a
mild heart attack arteries was 95% clogged. ``If you hadn't been in such
great shape,'' one doctor told him, "you probably would've died 15 years
ago.''

So, in a way, Dick and Rick saved each other's life.

Rick, who has his own apartment (he gets home care) and works in
Boston, and Dick, retired from the military and living in Holland, Mass.,
always find ways to be together. They give speeches around the country
and compete in some backbreaking race every weekend, including this
Father's Day.

That night, Rick will buy his dad dinner, but the thing he really wants
to give him is a gift he can never buy. "The thing I'd most like,''
Rick types, "is that my dad sit in the chair and I push him once.''

HE SHOULD HAVE HAD WATER WINGS: A priest who told his congregation he could repeat the biblical miracle of Jesus walking on water drowned in his attempt to reenact Jesus' accomplishment. Evangelist preacher Franck Kabele drowned after walking out to sea from a beach in the city of Libreville in Gabon, West Africa. Kabele took his congregation to the beach saying he would walk across the Komo estuary, which takes 20 minutes by boat. Kabele walked into the water, which soon was over his head, and he never came back.
